We are proud to support the two charities below.

Vision Aid Overseas(VAO) – is a charity dedicated to people in the developing world whose lives are blighted by poor eyesight. 300 million people in the developing world need spectacles to live an ordinary life, but do not have them due to poverty and the lack of optical services. The World Health Organisation has acknowledged this as the leading cause of avoidable visual impairment.

90% of people without access to spectacles live in the developing world. It costs VAO as little as £3.00 to transform someone’s life with a pair of spectacles.

We collect spectacles on behalf of VOA. If you have any spare unused spectacles, please place them in the VOA box by the reception desk.

Sightsavers - works to combat blindness in developing countries, restoring sight through specialist treatment and eye care to the people who need it most – those living in poverty in some of the world’s poorest countries.

Last year treated over 3.7 million people for potentially blind conditions.

Carried out 274,178 sight restoring cataract operations.

Provided training and support to 8,670 people who are irreversibly blind.
